 Corps à Corps

Galerie Médiart - 109, rue Quincampoix

September, 2005

" Jean-Marc Quittard,’s painting, just like the pasolinien universe, proceeds of the same violence, the same exacerbation of feelings and emotions. The representation of these many bodies is between abstraction and figuration. The artist put color materials on a background in white linen. They mix and flow just like secretions in a confined space. It emerges random compositions of hybrid body in metamorphosis.

Jean-Marc Quittard wants to pass on us through the representation of these bodies, their strength and presence. "

Odile Van Bay, gallerist.

Corps a Corps  is a transition in the art of Jean-Marc Quittard. Acrylic medium and ink are mixed in many paintings as the soul and body. The names of the works are names for a war: Time of War, Corpus delicti, Clash, Corps à corps, Anchor, Mad Body ... "as if to demonstrate the ongoing struggles in the body artist himself.
